Bisphenol-A (BPA) and Tupperware

published on June 14th, 2008 . by Jennifer

As you might imagine, I’ve been fielding a lot of questions recently about the safety of Tupperware and the precise composition of our plastics. Tupperware does use polycarbonate plastic in some products, mostly in the microwaveable products such as Rock ‘N Serve. Polycarbonate plastic is NOT used in any of the children’s products.

Some links for you all, if you have concerns:

I am not any sort of expert on plastics. Just passing along the information I was given.

What’s Your Favorite Tupperware Product?

published on January 16th, 2008 . by Jennifer

Everyone has a favorite Tupperware item. It might be the latest and greatest innovation, a tried and true classic, or even a product that’s no longer manufactured. What’s yours and what do you love about it?

Why Buy Tupperware?

published on January 15th, 2008 . by Jennifer

logoOne day while I was working at the Tupperware kiosk at the mall, I overheard someone say, “Tupperware? Who has Tupperware?! It’s too expensive–that’s insane!”

Yes. Tupperware is more expensive than the containers you can buy at the grocery store, but what do you get for your money? Tupperware lasts a very, very long time. Can you imagine Rubbermaid or Gladware containers lasting 50 years or more? Probably not. Tupperware does. Just look in your grandma’s cupboard. When you consider how many times you’d have to replace that other product during that time, the economical choice is clear.

Plus, most Tupperware carries a Limited Lifetime Warranty so that in the unlikely event that it chips, cracks, breaks, or peels under normal, non-commercial use, it can either be replaced or you can get credit toward the purchase of new Tupperware. No receipt or proof-of-purchase is required for this warranty.

I am always looking for ways to make parties more fun and exciting. So tell me–when you attend a Tupperware party (or any similar event), what do you like? Or hate, for that matter!
