The Quick Chef

The Quick Chef was an item I received in my Tupperware starter kit. It is basically a hand-powered food processor. I was totally skeptical at first, figuring there was no way this little gadget would make its way into my own kitchen.
And then I tried it. It now sits in my cupboard, and is used often enough that I need to buy myself another one just to take to parties. I have not chopped an onion by hand in over 6 months. I quarter an onion, stick the pieces in the Quick Chef, turn the handle a few times, and I have chopped onions. Not onion soup, actual chopped onions. The best part? Since it has a lid, I don’t get all teary from onion fumes.
I use the paddle/whisk insert for any recipe in which I am mixing a powder into a semi-solid, like making onion dip from soup mix and sour cream. It does a faboo job with that sort of thing.
This morning I tried chopping nuts in it for the first time. It also did a great job, though the recipe I was using called for very finely chopped nuts. But if I just needed pieces, like for chocolate chip cookies, the pieces would have been the perfect size.
I love this thing!
