Tupperware outside the United States

published on December 28th, 2007 . by Jennifer

Did you realize that Tupperware has different product lines in other countries? Someone sent me links to Tupperware sites in other countries and I’ve had fun checking them out. Interestingly, there are a couple of products that I’ve received as consultant awards which are only available to customers outside the US. I will be very, very excited if some of these products become available for me to sell. For example, the European countries have BreadSmart containers for keeping bread fresh. I have one and love it! But I can’t get more and I can’t sell it. And there is an insulated travel mug available in Japan that I have and love.

Anyway, links! Some countries have the entire catalog available online, others do not appear to (or I just couldn’t find it)

I am impressed!

published on December 23rd, 2007 . by Jennifer

I placed a rather large Tupperware order almost two weeks ago for the brand new products coming out in January. That evening was when the fire broke out, destroying a 160,000 square foot warehouse and all the Tupperware inside.

Today, I got my order. I had one product with a color substitution and there is one product missing–out of two 36 pound boxes. So I am impressed, not just with FedEx, who was out delivering on Sunday, but also with Tupperware–for getting all this product out to me in such a speedy fashion. Yay!

Finally! The list of product/color substitutions!

It looks like for the most part, you’ll get the exact same product you ordered, but it’ll be a gamble as to what the color is. Take a look!

The Quick Chef

published on December 18th, 2007 . by Jennifer

Quick Chef The Quick Chef was an item I received in my Tupperware starter kit. It is basically a hand-powered food processor. I was totally skeptical at first, figuring there was no way this little gadget would make its way into my own kitchen.

And then I tried it. It now sits in my cupboard, and is used often enough that I need to buy myself another one just to take to parties. I have not chopped an onion by hand in over 6 months. I quarter an onion, stick the pieces in the Quick Chef, turn the handle a few times, and I have chopped onions. Not onion soup, actual chopped onions. The best part? Since it has a lid, I don’t get all teary from onion fumes.

I use the paddle/whisk insert for any recipe in which I am mixing a powder into a semi-solid, like making onion dip from soup mix and sour cream. It does a faboo job with that sort of thing.

This morning I tried chopping nuts in it for the first time. It also did a great job, though the recipe I was using called for very finely chopped nuts. But if I just needed pieces, like for chocolate chip cookies, the pieces would have been the perfect size.

I love this thing!

The shop is open!!!

published on December 15th, 2007 . by Jennifer

My online shop is open and ready for business. The Tupperware factory is now running 24/7 to start the monumental task of restocking the warehouse. At the moment, product availability is limited mostly to the popular basics, but as production catches up, more products will be added.

Anyone placing an order with me between now and Friday the 22nd will get a free small gift. Happy shopping!

Ah, bummer

published on December 14th, 2007 . by Jennifer

I just got notice that about a third of the new products that I had ordered as samples on Tuesday have been temporarily taken off the sampling list. Meaning, they’ve gone up in smoke. The one I am most disappointed about is the Tupperwave Stack Cooker, which is a really neat gadget for microwave cooking. At Monday night rally a few months back, we had a demonstration of cooking a lasagna in it. A lasagna in the microwave! Done in about 40 minutes, start to finish.

The good news, though, is that a lot of products that I ordered *didn’t* go up in smoke. And, I am assuming that at some point production will catch up and I’ll get my cooker. After all, it seems that manufacturing capabilities were NOT affected by the Hemingway fire, just a warehouse. So, onward!
